Business Partnerships Manager
Ideal Candidate Profile
This position contributes to the fulfillment of Open Arms’ mission by identifying and building relationships with community partners that result in revenue generating contracts with Open Arms. The Business Partnerships Manager requires a proactive individual who can navigate a complex funding environment, think outside the box, and build relationships with potential partners interested in purchasing Open Arms meals and services for their clients/patients. This position will be expected to help drive sustainable growth for our nonprofit’s mission.
Professional Experience & Skills:
- A business development and sales expert with a proven track record of securing and managing revenue-generating B2B contracts, ideally in the nonprofit, healthcare, or managed care sectors.
- A natural relationship builder who inspires confidence and trust in partners and stakeholders, with experience cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare administrators, insurance executives, government agencies, and/or corporate partners.
- An individual knowledgeable in healthcare & policy, familiar with Medicaid/Medicare, managed care organizations, and the role of medically tailored meals in improving health outcomes.
- An intuitive, curious colleague, who is excited to learn top to bottom about Open Arms mission and operations and can balance operational needs and organizational realities with the needs/wants of the contract partner.
- A strong proposal writer and communicator with the ability to develop compelling proposals, presentations, and reports that effectively convey the value of Open Arms’ services.
- A skilled market analysist with the ability to analyze industry trends, assess opportunities, and position Open Arms effectively within the healthcare and nonprofit markets.
- An experienced financial and contract manager, skilled in contract negotiations, budgeting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Someone with high cultural competency, with a passion for diversity in the workplace, experience and commitment to creating and maintaining an equitable and inclusive environment for clients, staff and volunteers.
- An individual that brings an entrepreneurial and proactive approach to the role, while being a self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive initiatives forward with minimal supervision.
- A resilient, adaptable and strategic thinker that is comfortable navigating complex funding landscapes and adjusting strategies as needed.

Success in This Role Looks Like:
- Securing and managing sustainable revenue-generating contracts that contribute to Open Arms’ long-term growth.
- Establishing key partnerships with healthcare providers, insurers, and/or community organizations to expand client/patient access to medically tailored meals and/or nutrition services.
- Effectively communicating Open Arms’ impact and value proposition through compelling proposals and presentations resulting in deeper relationships.
- Raising Open Arms’ visibility and credibility in the healthcare and nonprofit sectors as a leader in food as medicine initiatives.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of business development or contract management experience, B2B, ideally within a nonprofit or healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated track record in securing contracts and/or revenue-based business relationships.
- Familiarity with healthcare policy, Medicaid/Medicare, and managed care is preferred.
- Self-motivated and entrepreneurial with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional customer service skills with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to create enthusiasm and trust in partners.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively.
- Ability to contribute to a positive team environment.
- Strong critical thinking skills and creative problem-solving.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities to ensure completion of work in a timely and efficient manner.
- Detail oriented with high standards of performance, great organizational skills and ability to adapt quickly to the changing needs of the organization.
- Ability to utilize sound judgment when working with secure information and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Compensation Range: $85,000-$90,000 annually
Locations: Minneapolis and St. Paul
Hours:40 hours per week
