Client Services Associate

The ideal candidate has a passion for direct client service work done primarily over the phone, experience, and comfort working with people of diverse backgrounds. They will be detail-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a larger team.

Requirements: 

  • Experience and demonstrated excellence in customer service or direct client services. 
  • Bilingual language skills in Spanish, Hmong, or Somali are strongly preferred but not required. 
  • Education and/or experience in clinical settings, social work, case management, and/or client advocacy are strongly preferred. 
  • Familiarity with insurance processing is a plus. 
  • Demonstrated interest in and ability to work directly with people living with critical illnesses. 
  • Strong administrative/computer skills and excellent organizational skills. 
  • Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. 
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting. 
  • Understanding of the importance of client confidentiality. 
  • Ability to maintain composure during difficult circumstances and consistently provide calm, compassionate care to people in crisis. 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and outstanding human relations skills. 
  • Ability to be energized and contribute to a positive team environment. 
  • Personal presence that garners respect from clients, volunteers, and the community. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Windows, understanding of and experience with databases. 
  • Active driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to use personal vehicle to conduct in-person client visits as needed. 
  • Ability to adhere to attendance and punctuality requirements to meet time-sensitive client and business needs. 
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends. 
  • Flexibility to work at two different worksites. 
  • Sensitivity and commitment to diversity and ability to work respectfully with co-workers, clients, and community members. 
  • A passion for the mission and values of Open Arms. 

Reports to: Client Services Manager
Location: Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN
Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour.
Hours: 40 hours per week
