Community Hosted Fundraising
About Community Hosted Fundraising Events: How You Can Make A Difference
A community hosted fundraising event is a powerful and impactful way to support Open Arms of Minnesota. These events are planned and hosted by businesses, organizations, community groups, schools, or individuals who are passionate about our mission. The proceeds from these events directly benefit Open Arms, helping us continue to provide nourishing and healthy meals to critically ill clients.
By organizing a community hosted fundraising event, you are not only raising crucial funds but also spreading awareness about the essential services we provide. Your efforts help us continue to deliver medically tailored meals to those who need them most, ensuring our clients receive the nutrition and support they require during challenging times.
Whether you’re a business owner, a member of a community group, or an individual looking to make a difference, your support is invaluable. Together, we can nourish and uplift those who need it most.
For more information on how to host a community hosted fundraising event, please check out our Community Hosted Fundraising Handbook below or reach out to Dana Kuehn at [email protected]. You can submit your event application HERE. Your creativity and commitment can help transform lives, one meal at a time.
Examples of Community Hosted Fundraising Events
24-Hour Mario Kart Marathon
For the past two years, two dedicated brothers have hosted an exciting 24-hour Mario Kart marathon, with all funds raised benefiting Open Arms. In 2024, their gaming skills and community spirit helped raise $2,920! A wonderful example of having fun while fundraising.
Butcher & the Boar (Char Bar) Sunday Meat Raffle
Throughout June 2024, Butcher & the Boar hosted a Sunday meat raffle, where five specialty meat items were raffled every half hour. Proceeds from raffle ticket sales over the month were generously donated to Open Arms of Minnesota, combining community fun with a meaningful impact!
St. Kate’s Empty Bowls Project
Twice a year, the Art Department at St. Catherine University hosts community bowl-making sessions. After firing the bowls, they hold an Empty Bowls event where students, staff, and community members can purchase a handcrafted bowl and enjoy a warm bowl of soup—or ice cream in the spring! This special event supports efforts to fight food insecurity, benefiting both Open Arms of Minnesota and the St. Kate’s/CSJ Food Access Hub.
