Wilder Research Releases 2024 Evaluation Report For Healthy Pregnancy Home-Delivered Meals program
Wilder Research, an independent research unit of the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation, has released its 2024 Evaluation Report on the Healthy Pregnancy Home-Delivered Meals program, a collaboration between Open Arms of Minnesota, Hennepin Healthcare, and UCare.
In 2023, Hennepin Healthcare, Open Arms of Minnesota, and UCare partnered to create Healthy Pregnancy Home-Delivered Meals, a pilot program for patients experiencing high-risk pregnancies who were also enrolled in Medical Assistance through UCare’s PMAP (prepaid medical assistance program). The goal of the program was to support the nutrition of patients who were pregnant and their babies, as there is a great deal of research that supports the connection between a healthy diet and healthy birth outcomes.
The Healthy Pregnancy Home-Delivered Meals program is ongoing, with Hennepin Healthcare and Open Arms currently engaged in a second pilot phase. This phase incorporates the insights and findings from the initial study, which is set to conclude in December of 2024.
