Second Chances
In our new “Peer Perspectives: Client-to-Client Stories” series, we chatted with Brad, a client embracing second chances. In 2019, Brad faced trauma, a brief jail stint, and multiple health diagnoses, including HIV and Parkinson’s. With support from Open Arms and others, he turned his life around and is now dedicated to helping others. For three years, Open Arms has provided him with nourishing meals, enhancing his well-being and giving him a community of support. As a member of Open Arms’ Client Advisory Committee, he leverages his experiences to improve services for others. Peer Perspectives: Client-to-Client Stories
Our new “Peer Perspectives: Client-to-Client Stories” series will offer our audience a more in-depth perspective into the lives of our clients. This initiative features heartfelt and candid features written by Kathleen Brogan, a dedicated volunteer of Open Arms. A resident of Richfield and our client since 2023 when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Kathleen was inspired to give back to the organization—tapping into her passion and expertise as a writer to give our community a fresh perspective into the lives of the people Open Arms serves.
Through her unique lens as a client, Kathleen captures the resilience, challenges, and triumphs of those who rely on our medically tailored meals. Each story in this series not only highlights the impact of what we do together but also celebrates the strength and spirit of our clients.
